Assign the Initial Temperature Profile

We now assign the steady-state temperature profile as the initial temperature for the transient heat transfer analysis.

  1. Right-click the Analysis Type heading and choose Edit Analysis Parameters. (You can also access this command from the ribbon ( Setup Model Setup Parameters).
  2. Select the Options tab.
    1. Select the Steady-state analysis option in the Source of initial nodal temperatures drop-down list.
    2. Click Browse.
      1. Navigate to the subfolder …\Circuit Board.ds_data\1. This subfolder will be under the folder where the circuit board tutorial model is located.
      2. Select the file ds.to
Note: Subfolder 1 contains the files associated with Design Scenario 1 and ds..to is the temperature output file produced by a steady-state heat transfer analysis.
      3. Click Open. The Options tab of the Analysis Parameters dialog now shows the chosen path and filename in the Existing model field.
Note: Do not close the Analysis Parameters dialog box. We specify additional parameters in the next page.
