You can now choose either a thermoplastic or a thermoset material for your part insert or core, in both thermoplastic and reactive molding simulations.
This feature is supported for the following mesh types:
3D
In past releases, it has been possible to assign either metal or polymer materials to inserts, for both thermoplastic and thermoset simulations.
However, if you selected a thermoplastic molding process, with a thermoplastic material for your part, you could only select a thermoplastic polymer for your part insert. Likewise, if you were simulating a reactive molding process, with a thermoset material for your part, you could only select a thermoset material for your part insert.
With this release, you can now pick thermoplastic materials for your part insert in thermoset analysis and vice-versa. When selecting the material for the part insert or the core, if you choose Polymer, you can then select either a Thermoplastics material or a Thermoset material.
