In an ortho drawing, if you want to see details hidden by a pipe, you can create a pipe gap. The gap is easily edited or removed, using grips.
To create a pipe gap
- On the Ortho View tab, Plant Object Tools panel, click
.
- As prompted, select the pipe to be gapped.
- Select the pipe gap ends and use the grips to create the appropriate-sized gap. You will not see the gap until you update the view.
- On the ribbon, Ortho View tab, click Update View to see the results. If you zoom in, you can see the pipe gap "pigtail" ends.
To edit a pipe gap
- Use the grips on each end of the gapped pipe to make adjustments. Update the view.
To remove a pipe gap
- Drag the grip on one end up to the grip on the other end of the gapped pipe. When you release the mouse, the pipe gap "pigtails" disappear.
- On the ribbon, Ortho View tab, click Update View. The pipe is restored to its pre-gapped state.
