Learn about plotting jobs.
The Plot Monitor dialog box tracks the processing of the sheets before they are sent to the device. The list displays the order of the sheets in the plot job and tracks the progress of each sheet. Using the Plot Monitor dialog box, you can pause, stop, or continue processing plot jobs. Once files are sent to a printer or plotting device, use the Windows print manager to track the status of the output.
Each row in the Plot Manager represents a file or sheet from the plot list submitted using the Plot Manager. If multiple plot jobs have been submitted, the files and sheets for each job are grouped together by the job name. The sheet that is currently being processed is highlighted with a green border. A file or sheet that did not print is displayed in red text.
The list is organized by the following columns:
- File Name: the name of the file
- Sheet Name: the name of the sheet within the file. If the file supports sheets, any number of sheets from the file may be added to the plot list. If more than one sheet from a file is added the plot list, the file containing those sheets is listed multiple times.
- Status: the current status of each file or sheet:
- - (dash): the file is waiting to be processed
- Processing: the file is being prepared for plotting. Once the file is processed, it is sent to the specified printing device.
- Sent to device: the file was sent to the specified device to be printed or plotted.
- Error: an error occurred either in the processing of the file or in sending the file to the printing device. The text for the row with the error turns red and the Details column displays the specifics of the error.
- Copies: indicates how many copies of each file or sheet were sent to print
- Device: indicates which plotting or printing device to which the file or sheet was sent.
- Elapsed Time: indicates how long the processing took for a particular file or sheet.
- Details: indicates when the file or sheet was sent to the assigned printing device. If there is an error processing the file or sheet, the Details column indicates the error.
