This link exports the geometrically accurate EnergyPlus™ file that was generated by Green Building Studio. It can be used as a starting point for more detailed engineering analyses. The latest version of EnergyPlus simulation program can be downloaded for free at www.energyplus.gov.
If you encounter errors when opening the .idf file in the EnergyPlus editor it may be due to differences in versions between the EnergyPlus file you downloaded from Green Building Studio and the verion of Energy Plus you have installed. One solution is to run the EnergyPlus transition program to convert the file to the required version of EnergyPlus. You also may want to open the converted idf file in the OpenStudio plug-in for SketchUp to "see" the model.
