Autodesk Tandem enables the upload and attachment of files to assets within a facility.

Docs Menu

After navigating to the Tandem facility, locate and click the Docs icon on the left side menu. Choose the + Add Documents option from the available menu. The Add Link dialogue box displays two upload options, either, direct File Upload or Autodesk Docs. Note the list of supported file types pictured.

Select one or multiple documents and click add.

The files can now be seen as a list of documents in the Tandem facility Docs menu.

Assigning Documents to a Specific Asset:

Note :Before proceeding with this step, make sure that the element has been classified with a classification that has a Link parameter associated.

Navigate to and select the specific asset you want to assign documents to. Look for the link parameter and click on the cog icon. From the Add link dialogue box, select:

Once the documents have been selected, they will appear in the Selections box; click Update.

The selected documents will appear in the link parameter. Each document link is independent of each other.

Viewing, Managing, and Deleting Attached Documents:

Depending on the file type, users can either download the file or view it in a PDF reader. To update the current selection of attached documents, click the cog to open the Edit Documents window and then click the X to remove unwanted document, or documents as previously described. Then click update.

Handling Versioning and Deletion:

If the document is versioned in Docs, updates made in Docs will be recognized in Tandem, but will require a manual trigger to update attached documents in Tandem. However, if the document is deleted in Docs, the latest version will persist inside Tandem.
