Customize the Autodesk Vault Client Installation

You can select which Autodesk Vault clients are installed with Autodesk Vault as well as the installation location.

  1. Select the product you want to configure and unfold its configuration page.
  2. Select Custom.
  3. Select which features to install from the list. When a feature is highlighted, a description of the feature displays to the right. Turn off a check box to exclude a feature from the installation. Note: The Microsoft Office add-in performs data management operations within the Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The Microsoft Office add-in is installed by default. Before installing the Microsoft Office add-in, verify that the service pack for Microsoft Office described in has been installed. To install the Microsoft Office add-in, select Custom for the installation type and then select Microsoft Office Add-in from the list of features to install.
    • AutoCAD Add-in: an ARX add-in for performing data management operations within AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD Mechanical.
    • Inventor Add-in: an add-in for performing data management operations within Autodesk Inventor.
    • Autoloader: a stand alone application that automates the process of uploading files to the vault.
  4. The default installation folder for the Autodesk Vault client is: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault [Edition] [Year]. To change the installation folder, click Browse and then select a new location. The disk space requirements are displayed below the selected installation folder.
  5. Specify whether or not to create a desktop icon for Autodesk Vault Explorer. If Autodesk Autoloader is selected as a feature to install, specify whether or not to create a desktop icon for Autodesk Autoloader. Desktop icons are created by default. Installed applications can also be accessed from the Windows Start menu Autodesk Autodesk Data Management.
  6. Fold configuration page to continue with the installation.
