Installation Notes
Lustre Shot Reactor
The Lustre Shot Reactor is a renderer that allows rendering shots as you keep work on them. As you move from shot to shot in the timeline, the previous shot is rendered using the Lustre Shot Reactor, so your work is not interrupted by rendering.
If several shots are modified before Lustre has had time to render the last one, the modified shots are sent to a job queue.
The Lustre Shot Reactor can be installed either locally or on an external computer across your network.
Lustre supports multiple Shot Reactor services running at the same time.
The Lustre Shot Reactor is installed with the Lustre application by default, and can be installed on external computers with the Lustre Shot Reactor install package.
Lustre Burn
Burn for Lustre is a renderer that allows rendering shots using servers set up on the network.
It requires jobs (including one or multiple shots to be rendered) to be sent to a queue manager (Backburner) by the user. Render jobs are then dispatched between the various servers available.
Burn for Lustre running on the Lustre workstation is not supported. It can be installed on external computers on the network only.
Burn for Lustre can be installed with the Lustre Burn install package.
