Issue:
How to animate joints in Fusion
Solution:
To Animate a joint in Fusion:
Solution 1
- Navigate to Assemble > Motion Study.
- Select the Joint.
- Add Distance and step.
- Play the component with the different mode.
Solution 2
Navigate to Animation.
- Navigate to Transform tab and select Transform Component.
- Select the component to move.
- Add distance to Slide.
- set the time and distance in the TimeLine.
Notes:
- The Animation workspace does not currently recognize joint constraints and will require moving every piece individually. The idea to allow the Animation workspace to register joint constraints and animate them has been presented HERE on the Fusion Ideastation.
- While the motion study will allow to create a rendered animation (through the Render workspace), the joint motion is limited by the motion study definitions.
- Another option could be to create a motion link between the joints and then create a video while dragging the joints to show the motion. This will not give as clean a video as the Animation or rendered motion study options, but it may allow animation of the model without using a motion study or manually moving every piece in the Animation workspace.
