Freeform blend creates a surface that bridges the gap between two other surfaces (or groups of surfaces), and matches continuity at the edges. The chain select option lets you select multiple edges with one click.
In its default mode, it typically creates heavily parameterized surfaces, but if you work with the Explicit Control options you can get good results for concept modeling.
Use the Flow Control options to define the end conditions.
