Reinstalling an Operating System

If you reinstall the operating system on the computer where your Autodesk license resides, the license can fail. As a result, you would be unable to use your product, and you would have to reactivate your license. The following procedure prevents a license failure when reinstalling the operating system. See Activation.

Note: The following procedure is for the Windows operating system. If you are running Autodesk products on Mac OS X or Linux platforms, see your product supplement to Installation Help for more information.

    • (Windows XP) C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet
    • (Windows 7, 8, Server 2008 R2, or 2012 R2) C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet
  2. Reinstall the operating system and reinstall the Autodesk product.
  3. Paste the license folder to the same location from which you originally copied the folder in step 1.
