What’s New in Autodesk InfraWorks 2014 R2?

Autodesk^® InfraWorks^™ 2014 R2 software delivers several enhancements to Autodesk InfraWorks 2014.

General product enhancements:

• Terrain shaping updates including the ability to streamline the creation of level sites for efficient site planning and preliminary design. For more information, see To shape terrain.
• Improved pipeline capabilities:
  • Realign a pipeline by selecting and dragging one or more of the connectors in the pipeline. As you drag a connector, the pipes stay snapped to the connector.
  • Better support for IMX import of pipe connectors from Civil 3D structures.

• Import CityGML and Revit files through the cloud. Revit installation is not needed when importing a Revit file. For more information, see To import CityGML data and To import Revit files.

Create better designs for roads and highways projects with improved intersection capabilities in the Roads and Highways offering in Infrastructure Design Suite Ultimate:

• Create 4-way and T junctions that have geometry based on design standards you select.
• Easily edit intersection and road geometry.
• Add and arrange multiple PVIs along your design roads.
• Intersections with existing roads form and are shaped automatically — whether design roads or spline roads are detected.

With cloud credits, optimize your road design using InfraWorks 360 optimization:

• Optimize design road vertical geometry to minimize earthwork costs (for cut, fill, and haul) while adhering to design standards.
• In addition to hills and valleys, the optimization service now automatically detects water crossings and bridge placements. The ground profiles of design roads, including water crossing and bridge placement, are optimized to minimize construction costs. Bridges and tunnels are accounted for in computing the construction cost shown in the optimization report.
