Use IMX to exchange data between Autodesk InfraWorks 360 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014.
Note: Due to schema changes, you cannot import an IMX file that you exported from Autodesk InfraWorks 360 into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. Doing so may cause AutoCAD Civil 3D to fail.
To export data to IMX
- Click
in the Utility Bar. Note: Only layers that are turned on when you start the export operation are exported.
- In the Model Explorer panel, make the desired layers visible.
Note: Toggle

next to a feature class to make layers visible or to hide layers (

).
- Zoom out to see the area to export.
- Click
.
- In the Export To IMX dialog box, specify the area to export:
- Select the target coordinate system by doing any of the following:
- Use the coordinate system shown. This is either the coordinate system assigned to the model or the last coordinate system you selected.
- To select from a coordinate system library, click
.
- To specify a recently-used coordinate system, click the down arrow and select it.
- Specify the name and location for the exported file.
To change the location, click the folder icon and browse to the desired location.
- Click Export.
