Requirements

Before you install or deploy Inventor or Inventor LT, make sure that your servers and client workstations meet or exceed the minimum recommended hardware and software requirements specified in the following tables.

Requirements for Citrix XenApp and Autodesk License Manager

Hardware
  • For information about system sizing, optimization, configuration, and deployment scenarios, see the Citrix requirements.

Software (minimum requirements)

  • One server, running Windows Server 2008 R2, installed and configured with Citrix XenApp 6.0 or 6.5, Citrix License Manager, and Citrix Profile Manager.
  • A separate license server and a Citrix-specific license type (more details below) are required to host Inventor and Inventor LT in a Citrix environment. Citrix-specific licenses for an Autodesk product cannot be combined with existing non-Citrix Autodesk product licenses and/or license servers.
  • Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Excel) must be installed on the Citrix server.

Other

  • Domain Controller Configuration: Microsoft Active Directory will be used for authentication. It can be configured to use Roaming Profiles.

Requirements for Client Devices

Operating System

  • Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Browser

  • Internet Explorer 7 or above.

User Access

  • Client computers should be bound to the network domain. Each client computer should have either the full or web online client plug-in installed. Users should use their domain logins to access both the Citrix web console and the LAN.
