Select Content for a Revit Installation

Revit content refers to collections of files that are specific to each language, region, and discipline. This content allows you to work on Revit projects, referencing appropriate standards for each geographical region.

Revit content varies depending on the software being installed. It may include the following:

• Project templates
• Family templates
• Libraries of Revit families
• IES files
• Lookup tables for Revit MEP

The Select Content option is available as follows:

• During a stand-alone Revit installation, on the Install > Configure Installation page
• When creating a deployment, on the Create Deployment > Configure page

The content list is organized by language and region. When you select a region, appropriate content files are installed with the software.

Add content

Additional content may be released for Revit products after installation. Click Add Content to browse and select the XML file that contains this content.

Note: After Revit is installed, you can access the Add Content button by starting the Revit installation through the Add/Remove utility of your operating system.

Default content

If you select content for multiple regions, specify the content pack to use as the default when using Revit.

The specified content pack is used as the default when setting properties that affect Revit.ini, such as template and library locations. For example, if you install both Imperial and US Metric content, the Default Content option specifies the Revit default for Imperial or Metric settings.

Note: If you are installing Revit Structure and the workstation region is GB, select the UK Terminology: Use British English option to ensure that required UK resource DLL files are installed.
