Specifies:
- One or more files to open, to associate to a presentation part file, or to use in a drawing view. Drawing files open to the last active sheet.
UseSHIFT or CTRL to select multiple files.
- The active project. Also provides access to the Projects dialog box, where you can edit and create new projects.
- Files from other CAD systems for import.
- An XML file containing part, assembly, or drawing parameters for import.
With Multi-user options turned on, you can reserve files as you open them.
Access
Click

Opens when you perform operations requiring selection of a file.

Access Content Center files from the location you specify in your project file.

Shows path of the active directory.
- File list

The main window shows a list of the subfolders and files in the selected path. Double-click a subfolder to show the files that it contains.
- File name

Specifies the file to open. Enter a file name, or select a file from the list.
- Files of type

Filters the file list to include only files of the specific type that you select from the list.
- Project File

Displays the active project . Click the down arrow to change to a different project file (available only when no files are open).
- Projects

Provides access to the Projects dialog box. You cannot switch projects while files are open.
- Quick Launch

Provides access to the New File dialog box. If the active project is a vault project, also provides access to the Open from vault dialog box.
- Open

Opens the selected file.
- Cancel

Cancels the file open operation and closes the dialog box.
- Find

Opens the Find Files dialog box so you can search for files based on file properties.
- Options

Opens the File Open Options dialog box, where you set options for the file to open or import. When importing a file, set import options specific to the type of file.
