InfoCenter

InfoCenter is a set of tools on the right side of the title bar that provide access to product-related sources. Although InfoCenter is common across several Autodesk products, the selection of tools sometimes differs from product to product. For example, in some products, the InfoCenter toolbar includes a Sign In button for Autodesk 360 services, or a link to Autodesk Exchange.

Note: InfoCenter uses Internet Explorer to support Autodesk LiveUpdate technology, even if you set your default browser to something else.

Search

Requires an internet connection. Enter keywords or text to search the Wiki Help. If you click Search with no text entry, you link to the Inventor Wiki Help home page.

The Expand/Collapse arrow collapses, or shows the Search box.

Use the following wildcards, alone or combined, to refine or expand your search query in InfoCenter.
Symbol Description
* Replace one or more characters at the beginning, middle, or end of a word. For example, “*lish”, “p*lish”, and “pub*” finds “publish”. Also, “anno*” finds “annotative”, “annotation”, “annoupdate”, “annoreset”, and so on.
? Replace a single character. For example, "cop?" finds "copy", but not "copybase".

Subscription Center

Sign in, or enroll to become a member. Access subscription information, a benefits center, and product support.

Subscription Resources and Privacy

Subscription resources provide interactive product features over the Internet. When you access subscription resources from Subscription Center in an Autodesk product, the system verifies that your product is on subscription. It checks information such as the serial number, version, language, and the subscription contract ID.

Autodesk compiles statistics using the information sent to subscription resources to monitor usage and determine how to improve them. Autodesk maintains your information in accordance with the Autodesk published privacy policy, which is available at http://www.autodesk.com/privacy.

Communication Center

Provides the following types of announcements:
  • Autodesk Channels: Receive support information, product updates, and other announcements, such as articles and tips.
  • RSS Feeds: Receive information from RSS feeds to which you subscribe when new content is posted. When you install your software, automatic subscription to several default RSS feeds is included.

Favorites

Stores links that you save from your InfoCenter search results, Subscription Center panel, or Communication Center panel.

To add a favorite link, open the Subscription Center or Communication Center, and click the Favorites icon beside the link.

Sign in with your Autodesk single sign in ID to access the same services as Subscription Center, but with the added mobility and collaboration benefits of Autodesk 360.

Autodesk Exchange Apps

Provides access to the Autodesk Exchange store, where you can download a variety of apps for use with your Autodesk applications.

InfoCenter Settings

If you have Subscription Center and Communication Center, you can customize settings such as notification behavior, RSS feeds, and Autodesk Channels in the InfoCenter Settings dialog box.
