When upgrading from Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 or earlier versions, legacy master runs templates must be manually migrated to the current version.
Before migration, create a blank tube and pipe assembly from the legacy master runs assembly template in Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 or earlier version and save the file in your local disk. To simplify the migration workflow, you can remove all individual runs but remain the master runs assembly.
- Start the current version of Autodesk Inventor Routed Systems and open the blank tube and pipe assembly file you just created in the earlier version.
- Save the file.
The assembly is automatically migrated by the system.
- If tube and pipe styles in the legacy template are using the published conduit parts and fittings, import the custom libraries to the Content Center. For detailed instructions, see Manage and configure libraries.
- Optionally, if you need to add new custom tube and pipe settings, do the following:
- Activate the master runs assembly. Use the Tube & Pipe Styles command to create or modify custom styles.
- Activate the top assembly and set the appropriate global master runs assembly settings.
- If individual runs exist, activate the master runs assembly and delete all runs.
- Activate the top-level assembly, right-click Tube & Pipe Runs, and then select Properties.
- In the Properties dialog boxOccurrence tab, clear the Adaptive check box.
- While in the Properties dialog box, note the name and location of this master runs assembly file listed on the General tab. Close the dialog box.
- Save the top assembly file.
- Close Autodesk Inventor Routed Systems.
- Through Microsoft Windows Explorer or an alternate method, copy the master runs assembly file noted in Step 9.
- Navigate to the directory where the corresponding master runs assembly template is stored.
- XP default: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor <version>\Design Data\Tube & Pipe.
- Windows 7 default: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor <version>\Design Data\Tube & Pipe.
- Optionally, to back up the original template, rename the piping runs.iam file to backup_piping runs.iam.
- Paste the new template to piping runs.iam.
