Copy Design Properties dialog box

Copies specified design properties from one file to another file or group of files. The available options are determined by the method used to open Design Assistant.

Note: If the active project is set to shared or semi-isolated, you cannot copy properties to a file that is checked out to someone else or into the workgroup version of a file.

Access:

In Design Assistant, select Tools Copy Design Properties.

Available only when Properties is active.

Copy From

Specifies the source file for the properties.

  • If you opened Design Assistant from Autodesk Inventor, the box contains the active file, and its properties are shown in the Properties list.
  • If you opened Design Assistant from Windows Explorer, click the arrow and select from the list of files in the active folder or click Browse to find the file.

Select Properties Group

Specifies the group of properties to display in the Properties list. Click the arrow and select from the list.

Properties

Specifies the property values to copy. Select a check box to add a property to the set of properties to copy. Clear a check box to remove the property from the set. The properties in the list are determined by the entry in the Select Properties Group box.

Copy To

Selects the destination folder or file.

  • If you opened Design Assistant from Autodesk Inventor, click the arrow and select from the list of active files.
  • If you opened Design Assistant from Microsoft Windows Explorer, click Browse to search for the folder or file.

All Open Files

Copies the specified properties to all files currently displayed in the Design Assistant window. Available only if Design Assistant was opened from an Autodesk Inventor session.

Current File

Copies the specified properties to all files in the destination folder. Available only if Design Assistant was opened from Windows Explorer.

Current Folder

Copies the specified properties to all files in the destination folder. Available only if Design Assistant was opened from Windows Explorer.

Subfolders

Adds the files in the current folder and its subfolders to the Select Files list. Available only if Design Assistant was opened from Windows Explorer.

Related Files

Copies the specified properties to the files that are referenced in the destination file.

Select Files

Selects specific files as destination files. If the selection in Copy To is a folder, the list includes the files in the folder. If the selection in Copy To is a file, the files in the list are the files that it references. Select a check box to include a file in the destination files. Clear a check box to exclude a file.
