Sculpt surface to add material to solid body

  1. On the ribbon, click 3D Model tab Surface panel Sculpt .
  2. In the Sculpt dialog box, click Add.
  3. Click Surfaces and select one or more surfaces or work planes that form the boundaries of the region to add. Any existing solid bodies that contribute to the closed, selected region are automatically selected.
  4. Optionally, click the Solid selector to choose the participating body if more than one solid is present in the file.
  5. Optionally, click the Preview check box to calculate the resulting body based on the current selection. The new area that will result is represented as green. Clear the check box to turn preview off.
  6. If the results are not what you expect, you can:
    • Click Surfaces, and make changes to the current selection set.
    • Click Solid and change the participating body.
    • Click the side selection arrows on the selected surfaces in the graphics window to change the direction. Click an individual arrow to select a side. Click the center sphere to select both sides.
    • Click More to change the side selection for selected surfaces. Click a surface in the Edit Direction list, and then click a direction icon to change the direction.
Note: Once the initial preview is calculated, any change to the selection set requires that you click Preview Solid to recompute.
  7. Repeat steps 3 through 5 until you achieve the desired results.
  8. Click OK. A sculpt feature is placed in the browser.
