In an assembly, create a part file for the 3D
sweep feature
, using geometry on other parts to position the feature and create adaptive work points to use as sketch points. Create the 2D profile to sweep along the path in the 2D sketch. In the 3D sketch environment, create a 3D line or 3D spline for the path sweep.
- On the ribbon, click

- In the 2D environment:
- Click a face or plane to set the location of the default 2D sketch.
- On the Quick Access toolbar, click Return to end the sketch.
- On the ribbon, click

Create 3D Sketch

- On the 3D Model tab, Work Features panel, click a work feature (work plane, work axis, or work point), and then click geometry on existing parts to position the work feature.
- Continue to create
adaptive work features
as needed.
- Use 3D line or 3D spline to select work points and vertices on components to create the sweep path, right-click, and then select Finish 3D Sketch.
- On the ribbon, click

- On the Sketch tab, use a sketch command to create a profile perpendicular to the 3D path, right-click, and then select Finish Sketch.
- On the ribbon, click

- Select the profile and path, and then click OK to complete the sweep feature.
