The Gate command is used to create a gate. You can also use this command to edit or delete a gate.
Create a gate
Set a gate location before you can create a gate.
- In the Mold Layout tab, click Gate.
- In the Create Gate dialog box, select the Type of gate.
- Under Placement, define the gate placement settings:
- Select the One Point or Two Points creation method.
- In the graphics window, select a gate location or a gate location and a sketch point.
- Adjust the rotation angle.
- Specify whether to place the gate on the Up side (usually the cavity side) or the Down side (usually the core side). The default selection is Down.
Note:
- If you select a Pin, Pin Point, or Sprue gate type, you cannot adjust the rotation angle, or specify the core or cavity side.
- If you select the Two Points placement, you cannot adjust the rotation angle.
- Specify the gate dimensions by editing values in the table under Preview.
- To create the gate, click Apply or OK.
Edit a gate
- In the Mold Design browser, under Gates, right-click a Gate node, and then click Edit Feature.
- In the Create Gate dialog box, modify the parameters.
- Click OK.
Delete a gate
- In the Mold Design browser, under Gates, right-click a Gate node, and then click Delete.
