Gate

The Gate command is used to create a gate. You can also use this command to edit or delete a gate.

Create a gate

Set a gate location before you can create a gate.

  1. In the Mold Layout tab, click Gate.
  2. In the Create Gate dialog box, select the Type of gate.
  3. Under Placement, define the gate placement settings:
    1. Select the One Point or Two Points creation method.
    2. In the graphics window, select a gate location or a gate location and a sketch point.
    3. Adjust the rotation angle.
    4. Specify whether to place the gate on the Up side (usually the cavity side) or the Down side (usually the core side). The default selection is Down.

    Note:

    • If you select a Pin, Pin Point, or Sprue gate type, you cannot adjust the rotation angle, or specify the core or cavity side.
    • If you select the Two Points placement, you cannot adjust the rotation angle.
  4. Specify the gate dimensions by editing values in the table under Preview.
  5. To create the gate, click Apply or OK.

Edit a gate

  1. In the Mold Design browser, under Gates, right-click a Gate node, and then click Edit Feature.
  2. In the Create Gate dialog box, modify the parameters.
  3. Click OK.
