You can add or edit text boxes in an active drawing sketch, or in a drawing resource such as title block format, custom border, or sketched symbol. Use the Text command on the Annotate tab.
Note: In drawings, the default text format is controlled by the default style of the active standard object. To change the default text format for a drawing or template, modify the text style and object defaults style.
Add text to drawing sketch

- Create a sketch or double-click a sketch to make it active.
- On the ribbon, click

- In the graphics window, click to place the insertion point for the text box, or drag to define the area of the text box.
Tip: In a drawing sketch with no commands active, press T to activate the Text command. Click in the graphics window to place the text box.
- In the Format Text dialog box:
- To insert text, enter text string in the edit field.
- To insert a property field, select a Type and Property, and click Add Text Parameter .
- To insert a prompted entry, select Prompted Entry from the Type list, and enter the prompt in the edit field.
- If appropriate, set additional text properties.
Note: Changing the text formatting in the dialog box overrides the text style for this text only. To change the default formatting for all text, modify the specified text style or change the drafting standard's object default style. Right-click the text, and choose Edit Text Style.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.

Edit or format text in drawing sketch
- Double-click a sketch with text to activate the sketch environment.
- Double-click the text object to edit.
- In the Format Text dialog box, edit text, add symbols, parameters or properties in text, or change the text formatting. Then click OK.
Align text in sketch
You cannot align sketch text with text in other sketches or with text boxes on the sheet.
- Create a sketch or double-click a sketch to make it active.
- In the graphics window, select two or more text boxes in the active sketch. The first text box selected determines the placement of the group.

. Click the lines on the text box that you want to align, and then click the second text box.
Tip: Use Geometry-Text to add or edit geometry-aligned text in a part or drawing sketch.
