Virtual parts are used to assign bill of material and property data for components that you would not ordinarily model, such as looms, seals, and plugs. Virtual parts are attached to existing components. Virtual parts can also change the properties of the object they are assigned to. For example, assigning a loom virtual part to a segment can change the appearance of the segment.
You can assign virtual parts to various objects in a harness assembly using the Assign Virtual Parts command on the Cable and Harness tab. You can also assign virtual parts to individual objects through the Property dialog box of an object. You can use one of the virtual parts in the Cable and Harness Library, or you can create and use your own. The parts that are available depends on the type of object you are assigning the part to.
