Set part dimension tolerance with Dimension Properties dialog box

  1. Right-click a dimension and select Dimension Properties.
  2. Click the Document Settings tab to verify the current document defaults. Make sure the Modeling Dimension Display type is Show Tolerance.
  3. Click the Dimension Settings tab. Values are displayed according to settings on the Document Settings Units and Default tolerances tabs.
  4. Under Settings, modify the current values:
    • In Name, enter a different name. It displays in the Parameters table.
    • In Precision, click the arrow to select the decimal precision.
  5. In Evaluated Size, click to select Upper, Nominal, Median, or Lower to use when evaluating the dimension.
  6. In Type, click the arrow and select the tolerance type for the selected dimension.

    Depending on your selection, enter upper and lower values in the tolerance range, or hole and shaft tolerance values.

  7. Click Apply to continue to make changes, or OK to close the dialog box.
