To create and route wires in digital prototypes, you perform a series of operations, including:
To create the Harness assembly, click Assemble tab Begin panel Cable and Harness .
Create Harness command
When you create the harness assembly, you have the opportunity to change the name and location for the file. By default, the file is named <top level assembly>.Harness<number>.iam (where number is a sequential number that increments with each harness assembly). The corresponding harness part receives the same name as the harness assembly. The default location is <top level assembly>\AIP\Cable and Harness. You can provide a different name and location if appropriate.
After you provide the name and location, the system adds a harness assembly to the browser, along with other placed components. It is arranged in the order it is added to the assembly. Harness assemblies can be created and modified only in the parent assembly. If a harness assembly resides in a subassembly, open the subassembly to change the harness.
