Place a connector plug or pipe plug
- In the Mold Assembly tab, click Cooling Components.
- In the Cooling Components dialog under Type, click the down arrow to open a selection dialog.
- Select either Connector Plug or Pipe Plug from the Category drop-down menu, and specify the make of the component from the Vendor drop-down menu.
- The Cylindrical Edge tool is activated. In the graphics window, select the cylindrical edge on which to place the part.
- To switch the direction of the component, click Flip.
- Set the cooling component parameters in the Parameters list. Click the arrow to select a value or enter a new value if the application allows.
- Click Apply.
- Click Done.
Place a sealing plug
- In the Mold Assembly tab, click Cooling Components.
- In the Cooling Components dialog under Type, click the down arrow to open a selection dialog.
- Select Sealing Plug from the Category drop-down menu, and specify the make of the component from the Vendor drop-down menu.
- The Axis tool is activated. In the graphics window, select an axis around which to place the component.
- To switch the direction of the component, click Flip.
- Set the cooling component parameters in the Parameters list. Click the arrow to select a value, or enter a new value if the application allows.
- Click Apply.
- Click Done.
Place an O-ring
- In the Mold Assembly tab, click Cooling Components.
- In the Cooling Components dialog under Type, click the down arrow to open a selection dialog box.
- Select O-ring from the Category drop-down menu, and specify the make from the Vendor drop-down menu.
- The Channel tool is activate. Choose a cooling channel in the graphics window and click to apply the O-ring to it.
- The Plane tool is now active. Choose a work plane or planar face in the graphics window and click to apply.
- Set the cooling component parameter values in the Parameters list. Click the arrow to select a value or enter a new value if the application allows.
- Click Apply.
- Click Done.
Place a baffle, spiral core, cascade water junction, or heat transfer pipe using the linear method
- In the Mold Assembly tab, click Cooling Components.
- In the Cooling Components dialog under Type, click the down arrow to open a selection dialog box.
- Select the appropriate connector from the Category drop-down menu, and specify the make from the Vendor drop-down menu. The Linear method is set by default in the Placement drop-down menu.
- The Plane tool is activated. If it is not, click it to select the plane on which to place the component. If necessary, enter an offset value.
- Reference 1 tool is activate. In the graphics window, select the first reference linear edge.
- Reference 2 tool is activate. In the graphics window, select the second reference linear edge.
- Set the cooling component parameter values in the Parameters list. Select the value, and click the down arrow to select a value from the pull-down menu, or input a new value if the application allows.
- If necessary, enter a value in the Trim Value combo box to shorten the length of the cooling component by the specified value.
- Click Apply.
- Click Done.
Place a baffle, spiral core, cascade water junction, or heat transfer pipe using the concentric method
- In the Mold Assembly tab, click Cooling Components.
- In the Cooling Components dialog box, under Type, click the down arrow to open a selection dialog box.
- Select the appropriate connector from the Category drop-down menu, and specify the make from the Vendor drop-down menu.
- Select Concentric from the Placement drop-down menu.
- The Plane tool is activate. In the graphics window, select the plane on which to place the component. If necessary, enter an offset value.
- The Concentric Reference tool is activate. In the graphics window, select a circular edge or cylindrical face as the reference plane.
- Set the cooling component parameter values in the Parameters list. Select the value, and click the down arrow to select a value from the pull-down menu, or input a new value if the application allows.
- If necessary, enter a value in the Trim Value combo box to shorten the length of the cooling component by the specified value.
- Click Apply.
- Click Done.
Edit cooling components
- In the Mold Design browser, under Cooling & Heating Components, right-click a Cooling Component node, and then click Edit Feature.
- In the Cooling Components dialog box, modify the parameters.
- Click OK.
Delete cooling components
- In the Mold Design browser, under Cooling & Heating Components, right-click a Cooling Component, and then click Delete.
