Set the Unit Quantity
- Open the Document Settings dialog box for a component.
- In the Bill of Materials tab, expand the Base Quantity list.
- From the list, select a parameter to be used as the Base Quantity, and click OK.
To edit or add a parameter, click Edit Parameter next to the Base Quantity option.
- Expand the Base Unit list, select the Base Unit, and click OK.
- In the Document Settings dialog box, click OK.
You can also change the Base Quantity in the Bill of Materials dialog box by editing Base Quantity and Base Unit.

- If the Base Quantity or Base Unit column is not displayed in the table, click Choose Columns. Drag the column to the column header of the BOM table.
- Click the Base Quantity cell to edit, and expand the Base Quantity list.
- From the list, select a parameter to be used as the Base Quantity value.
- Click the Base Unit cell to edit, and expand the Base Unit list.
- From the list, select a unit to be used as the Base Unit value.
Set the Static Quantity (quantity override)
- On the ribbon, click

- In the Bill of Materials dialog box, click a QTY cell to set as Static Quantity.
- Enter the Static Quantity value.
- To remove the quantity override, delete the value from the QTY cell.
Note: The Static Quantity value is displayed in blue color.
Tip: You can set a QTY cell as a static value, or as a calculated property by using the context menu: Right-click the QTY cell, and choose Static Value or Calculate Quantity.
