View Dynamic Simulation browser items before running the simulation

When you are satisfied with the mechanism, we recommend that you check the items in the Dynamic Simulation browser before running a simulation . Look for the following:

Redundant constraints

If you created standard joints by joint insertion or constraint conversion , your mechanism may have redundant constraints. (The software deletes redundant constraints as part of automatic joint creation.)

  1. In the Dynamic Simulation browser, check the Assembly folder, which is at the top of the hierarchy displayed there.

If the mechanism has redundant constraints, an icon appears to the left of the mechanism name.

  2. On the ribbon, click Dynamic Simulation tab Joint panel Mechanism Status .
  3. Use Mechanism Status and Redundancies to repair your mechanism.

Suppressed joints

  1. In the Dynamic Simulation browser, right-click a suppressed joint and deselect Suppress joint.
  2. Alternatively, use the Properties dialog box.
    • In the Dynamic Simulation browser, right-click a suppressed joint and select Properties.
    • In the General tab of the Properties dialog box, deselect Suppress joint and click OK.
  3. Repeat the previous step with every gray joint.
