Create template for sheet metal part

  1. Create a sheet metal part, using an existing template.
  2. On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tab Setup panel Sheet Metal Defaults .
  3. Optionally, override the Material, Thickness, or Unfolding Rule as needed.
  4. If needed, change the sizes of the origin work planes to accommodate the average sheet metal size.
  5. Click iProperties to open the iProperties dialog box, set any iProperties for the template file that you want to be inherited by any files created from the template.
  6. Save the file in the Autodesk\Inventor [version]\Templates folder or a subfolder of Templates. The new created template is available in the New dialog box.
