Export files with Task Manager

Export one or more files to a specified file type, at a specified time.

  1. In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, click Export Files .

    The information in the task list switches to show any import files tasks that you saved previously.

  2. In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, right-click, and select Create Task Export Files.
  3. In the Export Files dialog box, click Add Files or Add Folder to specify the files and folders on your computer to include in the task.
    Note: To export files from Vault, first check out the files from Vault, and then perform the Export task.

    If your selection is a folder:

    • To include subfolders, click the corresponding level of the Recursive column.
    • To specify the file types within the folder to include in the task, change the entry in the Input File Name column.

      If necessary, repeat the steps to add more files and folders.

  4. Specify the output file type:
    • Select one or more files you listed for export.
    • In the Output File Name column, click . In the Save As dialog box, in Save As Type, select the appropriate file extension for the output.
    • Click Save.
    • In the Export Files dialog box, click Options. The respective dialog box opens.
    • Set the save as options for the output format you selected.
  5. In the Task Properties box, enter a task name and a time-out threshold.
  6. Specify a schedule, or select the Immediately option.
  7. In the Export Files dialog box, click OK.

    If it is the first task you create during the current session, the Authentication dialog box is displayed. Enter your Microsoft Windows log in name and password.

The task is displayed in the task list. You can close the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window. The task runs as scheduled.
