Publish Feature dialog box

Use the Publish Feature to select an Extrude, Revolve, Sweep, or Hole feature and its parameters and publish to a Content Center library. For hole features with multiple hole center points, you can publish the hole in two ways. You can publish either with all center points or publish the hole as a single hole without existing center points.

Text on a profile sketch is not included in a published feature.

Specifies how the feature is positioned when placed in a part. The feature can be dropped on a planar surface, face, or workplane.

Drop Sketch Aligned to Plane specifies that the profile sketch for the feature is aligned flush with the selected drop plane.

Drop Sketch Tangent to Plane specifies that the profile sketch for the feature is placed perpendicular to the selected drop surface. When placed, the X-axis is aligned with the drop surface and the Y-axis is normal to the drop point on the surface.

Used primarily for revolve features when you want the revolve axis to be normal to the drop surface instead of parallel to the surface.

Drop Sketch Aligned for Groove is used for Revolve features only. Used to publish a groove feature. When dropped in a document, you can select only cylindrical faces. On placement, the axis of the cylindrical face is aligned with the axis of the revolve feature.

Click to select a Cylindrical Radius Parameter from the list. Specifies the parameter to use for the radius of the cylinder on placement. For best results, place a radius dimension on the sketch before you publish the feature to the Content Center.

Note: It can be helpful to examine the groove features in the Content Center to see which parameters were defined before the feature was published.
