Shrinkage

Access:
  On the Mold Layout tab, clickMold Shrinkage, or

On the Core/Cavity tab, click Part Shrinkage.

Set tab

Set the shrinkage values manually.

Coordinate System
Mold_CSYS

Selects the mold coordinate system.

Part_CSYS

Selects the part coordinate system.

Specify UCS

Selects a user coordinate system.

Material and Shrink Value The name of the selected polymer material and its generic shrinkage value appears in the fields. The shrinkage value is taken from the material database.
Shrink Percentage
Isotropic

Select this check box if you want the shrinkage values to be equal in all directions. When the Isotropic check-box is selected, only one of the X, Y, Z fields is available as the shrinkage is the same in all directions.

X, Y, Z

Replace with the following: To describe shrinkage that is different in each of the three principal directions, enter the value in the appropriate field. If you select the Isotropic check-box, only one field is active because the shrinkage is the same in all directions.

Position column (U or V), and the corresponding value in the Value column.

Packing Profile

There are two types of packing profiles available.

  • % End of fill pressure controls the packing pressure relative to the pressure at the end of fill.
  • Absolute pressure controls the packing pressure by using absolute values.

Select the type of packing profile you want to use from the drop-down list. Enter your profile in the table.

Plot button. You can also set an Automatic cooling time or a specific time for all analyses to use.
Start Launch a shrinkage analysis.
Stop Stop a currently running shrinkage analysis.
