Analyzes selected sets of components for interference. If interference is found, the interfering volume is temporarily displayed. A report describes the interfering components and the location and volume of the centroid of the interfering body. If no interference is found, an appropriate message appears.
Access: |
Ribbon: Inspect tab Interference panel Analyze Interference |
Selects one or two sets of components to analyze for interference. Interference between sets is analyzed, or if a subassembly or group of components is selected as a single set, analyzes within the set. |
|
Define Set #1 |
Selects one or more components to analyze as a group. |
Define Set #2 |
Selects one or more components to analyze as a group. |
As analysis progresses, the percent complete displays on the screen. For large numbers of components or a large assembly, analysis can be lengthy.
When analysis is complete, the number of instances of interference and their combined volumes, if applicable, display in a message. Click OK to close the dialog box or click More to show the analysis report in table form. To adjust width, drag column margins. |
|
Item |
Lists the interference volume in numerical order, according to the browser order. |
Part 1 |
Lists the file name of the part in Set #1 that interferes with a part in Set #2. If the part is a member of a subassembly, shows both the file name and the part number. |
Part 2 |
Lists the file name of the part in Set #2 that interferes with a part in Set #1. If the part is a member of a subassembly, shows both the file name and part number. |
Centroid |
Lists the x, y, z coordinates, relative to the assembly origin, of the interference centroid. |
Volume |
Lists the volume of the interference found. |
You can modify parts to eliminate the interference. You can either print the interference report or copy it to the Clipboard and open it in a text editor or spreadsheet.
