Add a splice definition to the library

  1. On the ribbon, click Cable and Harness tab Manage panel Library .
  2. In the Cable & Harness Library dialog box, click the arrow to select the Splice from the type list.
  3. Click New .
  4. On the General tab enter a unique Name.

If the name is not unique, you are prompted to change the name before proceeding.

  5. Optionally, select an existing Category or create a new Category:
    • To select an existing category, choose a category from the list.
    • To create a new category, enter the category name. Once a category is created it is available from the list of categories.

  10. Optionally, click the Custom tab and add additional properties to the library splice definition.

The Name list includes property names given to other splices in the Splice Library, and the Type list includes possible data types that can be assigned to properties. The property names and values are not case sensitive, however, the case entered is maintained for future display of the property name and value.

Note: If the required properties are not defined or if the values entered not correct, the entry in question is highlighted red to indicate that it must be changed or entered. Make the needed corrections before proceeding.
  12. Click Save to save the definition to the library, and then click Close to close the dialog box.
