Modify base frame members

When a frame member is created, you can edit the standard, family, size, material, appearance, and orientation in the context of the assembly where the frame member resides.

Start in the assembly environment with an assembly model built previously in Frame Generator.

  1. On the ribbon, click Design tab Frame panel Change .
  2. In Frame Member Selection, select the check boxes beside the properties to be changed. Clear the check boxes for properties to remain unchanged.
  3. Use the drop-down menus for Standard, Family, Size, Material, and Appearance to change their values.
  4. To change the orientation, select the check box. A preview of the frame member displays. Select a radio button to position the frame member and note its location as the wireframe in the graphics window. Only one radio button for each frame member is active at any one time. As you select the radio buttons, the vertical and horizontal offsets and mirror adjust accordingly.

In Vertical Offset, select, or enter a value for the vertical distance between the frame member and the model.

In Horizontal Offset, select, or enter a value for the horizontal distance between the frame member and the model.

Select or enter a new angle of rotation for the orientation of the frame member.

Check the Align box to select a geometry (planar face, linear edge, work axis, work plane or sketch line) to which an inserted frame is aligned to.

Click Mirror Frame Member to flip the frame member quickly for orientation on the skeletal model. This feature is not available if multiple frame members are selected.

  5. Click Select. In the graphics area, click the frame member that you want to change. The selection is displayed as a wireframe.

To apply the changes to more than one frame member, click the Multi-Select check box, and select multiple frame members in the graphics area. We recommend that you select a single edge or line to set the orientation, and then use a window for multiple selection.

  6. Click Apply.
  7. Continue to modify frame members as needed, and then click OK.
