It is also possible to publish the animated results of a Dynamic Simulation to the compressed, secure Design Web Format (DWF).
Note: Publishing a Dynamic Simulation animation to DWF is only possible if you purchased and installed Dynamic Simulation as part of either Autodesk Inventor Simulation Suite or Autodesk Inventor Professional.
- Open the assembly containing the animation you want to publish.
- Activate the Dynamic Simulation environment and using the Simulation Player, run the current simulation animation to ensure that the latest component transforms have been established.
Note: If an existing assembly is opened which previously contained a Dynamic Simulation animation, the last run animation is exported to DWF. Be sure to run the animation following any edits that can affect the simulation before exporting to DWF.
- Publish the assembly using one of these methods:
- Click Export Export to DWF.
- Click Save As Save Copy As. In Save as Type, select DWF (.dwf) or DWFx (.dwfx) Files
- The Publish Assembly dialog box opens. Select Complete or Custom as the Publish option (Dynamic Simulation animations are not saved when the Publish option is Express).
Note: If you select the Custom option, the Assembly tab appears.
Set the publish options:
- In the General tab, specify the DWF file location, password protection, and so on.
- In the Properties tab, select the properties to publish.
- In the Assembly tab, set publish options for bill of materials data, design views, and positional representations. Ensure that the Include Dynamic Simulation Animation check box is checked.
Note: If you selected Complete as the Publish option, you do not see an Assembly tab. The simulation animation is output to DWF.
- Optionally, in the General tab, check the Display Published File in Viewer box to open the Design Review immediately. Clear the check box to view the file later.
- Click Publish to close the dialog box. The Publish Document to DWF dialog box opens to specify the DWF file name and directory.
- Click Save to generate DWF file.
Note: DWF files containing Dynamic Simulation animations does not automatically run the animation when the file is opened in Autodesk Design Review. Open the published file in Autodesk Design Review. In the Views panel, expand the Published Views and the Dynamic Simulation Views, click the node Dynamic Simulation Animation. Click Play to display the animation.
If the assembly containing the animation is referenced by either a Drawing (*.idw) or Presentation (*.ipn), the animation is also exported to DWF by publishing either the Drawing or Presentation using the Complete or Custom option.
