By default, Dynamic Simulation automatically converts assembly constraints to joints for assemblies created in the Autodesk Inventor 2008 or later releases. The Dynamic Simulation browser lists two joints: a revolution joint between the cam and the support, and a prismatic joint between the valve and the support.
To complete the mechanism, you manually add a spring joint and a 2D contact joint.
Tip: Automatically created joints are maintained in the Standard Joints folder. Joints that you add otherwise, reside in other folders based on the joint type.
Tip: To delete automatically created joints, on the ribbon click
Dynamic Simulation tab
Manage panel
Simulation Settings
, and then remove the checkmark next to
Automatically Convert Constraints to Standard Joints. Click
No, when prompted, and click
OK or
Apply in the dialog box.
