Create sequential task

  1. In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, click Sequential Tasks.

    The information in the task list switches to show any sequential tasks that you saved previously.

  2. In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, right-click, and select Create Task Sequential Tasks.
  3. The current subtask could be dependent upon the output of a previous subtask. In that case, in the Sequential Task dialog box, Task pane, select Use Output of the Previous Task.
  4. Click Add. Click a task type to open the corresponding task manager dialog box.
  5. In the Task Manager dialog box, define the subtask as though it is a regular task. The Task Properties box is not displayed because you do not need scheduling information for subtasks.
  6. In the Task Manager dialog box, click OK.

    The subtask is listed in the Sequential Task dialog box.

  7. To add the required subtasks, repeat the steps.

    To change the order of the subtasks, use the Up and Down commands. If a subtask cannot move up or down because of a dependency, a warning message is displayed.

    To edit a subtask, right-click and click Edit. Make changes in the corresponding dialog box, and click OK.

    To delete one or more subtasks, right-click and click Delete.

  8. In the Task Properties box, enter a task name and a time-out threshold.
  9. Specify a schedule, or select the Immediately option.
  10. In Log File, leave the checkbox selected for the default, or
    • To overwrite the default, enter an existing folder and a file name. If the log file does not exist, it is created.
    • To find and select an existing file, click Browse to find and select an existing file.
    • To specify no log file, clear the checkbox.
  11. Click OK.

    If it is the first task you create during the current session, the Authentication dialog box is displayed. Enter your Microsoft Windows log in name and password.

The task is displayed in the task list. You can close the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window. The task runs as scheduled.
