Add or edit splice occurrence properties

Splice occurrences inherit the general properties that were created at the library-level, as well as unique occurrence properties that are stored within the assembly in which they are placed. When specific properties are needed for the occurrence in an assembly, you can override the library-level property value with an occurrence property value. Property data can also be added or modified on the occurrence.

In the Splice Properties dialog box, custom properties added to the library splice are displayed with a dark background. Library properties on the splice can be replaced on the occurrence, and then restored to their original library-level value as needed.

  1. Double-click the harness assembly containing the splice to edit.
  2. In the browser or graphics window, right-click a splice, and then select Harness Properties from the context menu.
  3. In the Splice Properties dialog box, click the Occurrence tab to set the properties related to the physical aspects of the splice.
  4. Click the Wires tab to view wires connected to the splice.
  5. Double-click any row to display the properties dialog box for that wire occurrence.
  6. If appropriate, click the Custom tab:
    • To add new properties, enter a Name, Type, and Value, and then click Add.
    • To modify existing properties, select the property to modify, change the settings, and then click Modify.
  7. Click Apply to continue adding or modifying properties or OK to finish.
