Access

Click New, or the appropriate template.

Standard.ipt

Creates a part.

Sheet Metal.ipt

Sheet Metal.ipt creates a sheet metal part. A sheet metal file is an extension of the part modeling environment, and contains specific commands to support the creation of sheet metal parts.

Tip: If you routinely create sheet metal parts using a specific material, material gage, or parts which are produced using specific machines or tooling within your shop, consider creating unique templates for them.
Standard.iam

Creates an assembly.

Weldment.iam

Creates a weldment assembly. A weldment assembly file is an extension of the assembly environment, and contains specific commands to support the creation of weldments.

Standard.idw

Creates a Autodesk Inventor drawing (.idw).

Standard.dwg

Creates a Autodesk Inventor drawing (.dwg). Use an Autodesk Inventor drawing (.dwg) template to create new Autodesk Inventor drawings from a DWG format.

You can create a template from an .idw or .dwg drawing, preserving annotations on drawing sheets, such as custom symbols, notes, and revision tables. You can retain borders, title blocks, and view definitions in the template. View annotations and general notes are not saved in a template.

Standard.ipn

Creates an assembly presentation that contains specific presentation commands. Use a presentation to develop exploded views, animations, and other stylized views of an assembly design.
