Chamfer dialog box

Adds a chamfer on an edge of the shaft section. You can add only one chamfer on the shaft edge.

You can insert a chamfer either on the left or on the right of the selected shaft section.

Note: For already created chamfer you cannot change the method how the chamfer was created.

Access:

Ribbon: Design tab Power Transmission panel Shaft. On the Design tab, select Cylinder in the tree control. In the First edge features or Second edge features drop-down menus, select Chamfer

Method

Specifies how the chamfer is constructed.

Distance

Creates a chamfer with the same offset distance from the edge on both faces. Selects a single edge, multiple edges, or chained edges. Corner setback appearance may be specified.

Distance and Angle

Creates a chamfer defined by an offset from an edge and an angle from one face to the offset. Any edge or all edges of a selected face may be chamfered at once.

Two Distances

Creates a chamfer on a single edge with a specified distance for each face. Edges may be chained together.

Specifies the extent of selected chamfer method.
