Empty parts

The Add Part command provides a streamlined version of the Inventor default command, Create Component.

This command creates an empty part within the active assembly. No part activation or feature creation is part of the workflow. No option to select alternative templates or set BOM structure attributes are presented. No assembly constraints are created between the part origin planes that are aligned to the assembly origin planes.

• Creates an empty part that is located at (but not constrained to) the assembly origin.
• The newly created part is not activated, so you are not required to create a sketch or base feature.
• The new part file is created in the folder where you last saved.
