Add conduit connector to model

Create a conduit connector.

Conduit is a tubular material that encases and protects electrical wiring.

  1. On the ribbon, click Environments tab Begin panel BIM Exchange .
  2. On the BIM Exchange tab Author panel , click Conduit Connector ,

    or

    In the browser, expand the MEP System Connections icon, right-click on the Conduit node, and click Add Connector.

  3. In the Conduit Connector dialog box, select a shape for the connector.
    Note: If you select Undefined, you can select any oval, circular, or rectangular face.
  4. Select a face to place and position the connector. The location of the connector appears as a cylindrical arrow on the selected Autodesk Inventor part or assembly.
    If necessary, click the Direction command to reverse the connector direction.
    Note: Connectors do not indicate direction. They indicate a mating face or plane. Generally, connectors should point away from the solid body component face or opening.
  5. Optionally, clear the Inferred check box next to the size box, and enter a value.

    If the box is not selected, the size values are static. If selected, the size values are linked to the size of the selected face.

  6. On the Connection Type drop-down list, click the connection type.
  7. To continue to add connectors, click Apply. To create the connector and close the dialog box, click OK.
