Automatically view designs with ray tracing

• On the ribbon View tab, Appearance panel, click Realistic visual style.

Ray tracing begins, and the display renders with ray tracing using the default settings. If available, ray tracing uses the most current settings from the current session and the open document.

Manually view designs with ray tracing

• On the View tab, in the Appearance panel, click Ray Tracing. Click again to disable the feature.
Note: Available in the Monochrome visual style. Ray tracing is disabled for all other visual styles.

Specify mode in ray tracing

• In the Ray Tracing bar in the lower right of the display area, select the appropriate ray tracing mode:

  Interactive	Render using four samples per pixel, and maintain interactive performance.
  Good	Render using 16 samples per pixel, and maintain a good quality model display.
  Best	Render using 64 samples per pixel, and produce the best quality model display. Note: A higher sample rate can affect performance. Performance is based on the machine specifications.

Pause scene rendering in process

• To interrupt the scene rendering, click Pause. To resume rendering, click Continue.

Save ray tracing display as an image

• On the Application menu, click Save Copy As, and specify a name and location for the image.

  The default image options save immediately. If you specify a different screen resolution, the display renders that resolution during the save operation.

Disable ray tracing

Use one of the following methods:

• In the Ray Tracing bar, click Disable.
• On the ribbon View tab, Appearance panel, click Ray Tracing.
• Change from the Realistic or Monochrome visual style to any other visual style.
• Activate a command that disables ray tracing.
• Modify the application option or document display settings to remove the automatic setting from the Realistic visual style.
