You can copy Autodesk Inventor LT and AutoCAD data to the clipboard and paste into a part or drawing sketch.
The copy operation imports AutoCAD data, and places it at the cursor position.
A bounding box displays when you paste the data. Before the data is placed, you can right-click to activate the Paste Options dialog box, and set preferences.
Uses for AutoCAD data in sketch
- Create a work plane and select it as a sketch plane, and then paste data.
- Quickly convert 2D data to 3D. For example, sketch in AutoCAD, and then paste it into a model sketch in Autodesk Inventor LT and loft it to create a 3D model.
- Copy AutoCAD geometry to a drawing sketch and then add annotations.
Guidelines for copying and pasting AutoCAD data
- Paste data into a 2D part sketch, sheet sketch, title block sketch, border sketch, custom symbol sketch, or a view sketch.
- Some drawing sketches require that you apply constraints to endpoints.
- Proxy objects do not copy.
- For best results, use Autodesk Inventor LT color settings.
