If a DWG (.dwg) file does not contain any Autodesk Inventor LT data, you can either import it or open it directly.
If a DWG file contains Autodesk Inventor LT data, you can no longer import the file into Autodesk Inventor LT. Open the file only as an Autodesk Inventor LT drawing (.dwg).
