Looking at thermoplastic material properties

You can look at the properties of the various thermoplastic materials available in the databases.

Autodesk Simulation Moldflow databases include a default thermoplastic material database for you to use in your simulation. If you use different materials from those in the database, it is advisable for you to create your own database with your materials data. The closer the data used in a simulation is to real-life, the more accurate your results will be.

  1. Open a new or existing project.
  2. Select Search (Tools tab > Databases panel > Search). The Search Databases dialog appears.
  3. Select Thermoplastics material from the Property type list, then click OK. This opens the Search Thermoplastics material Databases dialog.
  4. Select a material, then click Details to open the Thermoplastics material dialog.
  5. When you have finished studying the properties of the selected material, click OK to exit out of the dialog.
