Rotate dialog

To access this dialog, click Rotate (Geometry tab > Layout panel > Translate).

Note: The available modeling tools depend on the mold type you selected.
Select the entities you want to manipulate to activate the dialog controls.
Note: Rotating entities to change their orientation with respect to the coordinate system is different from rotating the model in the graphics display area. If you just want to view the model from a different angle, click Orbit from the Navigation Bar, or use the ViewCube.
The part model orientation is important for creating a runner system and for calculating the clamp force. When you create a runner system, the sprue will be created along the Z-axis. The Z-axis should be perpendicular to the machine plate, with the injection side originating from the fixed plate. This ensures the sprue is created in a correct manner. The clamp force is calculated relative to the machine plate.
Note: If you change the part orientation after creating a runner system, the runner system will become disconnected.

Dialog elements

X
Enter a value, in degrees, to rotate the part(s) about the X-axis.
Note: Enter a positive or negative amount in degrees by which to rotate the selected part(s) about the x-axis. Use the +90 and -90 buttons to rotate in increments of 90°.
Y
Enter a value, in degrees, to rotate part(s) about the Y-axis
Z
Enter a value, in degrees, to rotate the part(s) about the Z-axis
Use part center
Rotate the part(s) about the center of their bounding box, instead of the origin.
