Dialog elements
- Cutting plane list
- Displays a list of the default cutting planes created, and any others which have been previously specified.
From the list, you can select the cutting plane you want to use to see inside a solid model. Check the box next to the cutting plane you want to use, and then click
Make Active. Then, drag the cursor up and down the screen to view the plane through the model.
Note: You can display more than one cutting plane at the same time.
- New
- Defines a new cutting plane, parallel to the screen.
A new entry is added to the cutting plane list and the dialog is closed automatically. If multiple cutting planes are selected, the new cutting plane will be the active plane.
Note: Ensure that the model is rotated as required before creating the new cutting plane.
- Make Active
- Activates the selected cutting plane.
Once a cutting plane has been made active, you can move it precisely as required with the Move Cutting Plane dialog that appears.
- Delete
- Deletes the selected cutting plane in the list.
Note: The default XY, YZ, and ZX cutting planes cannot be deleted. You can only delete cutting planes that you have created.
- Flip
- Flips the "front face" of the cutting plane.
That is, if the visible part of the model is projecting towards you, select this action to flip the cutting plane so that it is facing you and the visible part of the model is behind the cutting plane.
- Close
- Applies the cutting plane(s) selected in the cutting plane list and closes the dialog.
